Welcome to the An Taisce Limerick blog! For starters, an introduction. We are the local branch of An Taisce, Ireland’s National Trust, and our purpose is to do what we can to protect the built and natural heritage of our city and the countryside around it.
It is an exciting time to be in Limerick and we are very positive about its future, but are also keenly aware that the city’s future can only be better if we acknowledge and cherish its past, and if we plan its development carefully and sensibly.
An Taisce Limerick is an active advocate for sustainable, positive development in the city and Midwest region that benefits everybody, but we are equally active in opposing short-sighted and ill-conceived development. We support a strong city that attracts inward migration and investment and which gives its inhabitants a high standard of living. We keenly want to see the revitalisation of our surrounding towns and villages, and the protection of the local environment.
As always, we are keen for others to become involved as we are only as strong as our membership. If you’re interested in helping to create a thriving, progressive and sustainable Limerick, please become a member of An Taisce by going to the following page – http://www.antaisce.org/membership – and contact us about getting involved by email at email@example.com or through our Facebook page.
